Publisher for Los Alamos Monitor

Applications are now being accepted for the Publisher position in Los Alamos, NM. The Monitor is a five-day per week broadsheet published (Su,Tu,W,Th,F) and carrier delivered in the historic community of Los Alamos, NM where the Los Alamos National Laboratory is located. Los Alamos is located in northern New Mexico, just 30 miles from Santa Fe and 90 miles from Albuquerque. Los Alamos is a mountain town that offers many outdoor recreation activities. The in-county paid circulation as of September, 2013 was 2,321. The newspaper is printed on the newspaper’s onsite 5 unit/one folder Goss community press. The Las Vegas Optic, a tri-weekly sister paper, is printed by the Monitor. The Los Alamos Monitor can also be found online at www.lamonitor.com.

The Fort Morgan Times is seeking to fill two full-time reporter positions.

The general assignment reporter will cover Morgan County including features, local government, business and agriculture.

The sports reporter will cover sports at four Morgan County school districts as well as active recreation programs.

While the primary responsibility for both of these positions will be writing articles for the daily print edition and website, both will include photography, some video and page design.

The editorial staff is small and works hard to provide news from throughout our rural, agricultural community. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, learns quickly and is comfortable with the evolving world of digital news. Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field is preferred. Previous experience in the field is a plus.
